Big Weekend at Home

Saluda Tiger Band helped kick off the home opener this weekend as the football team hosted Ridge Spring-Monetta.  This was the first time this year  the band performed pregame and created the tunnel for the team to run through. Everyone hung tough during the extended lightning delay and returned to the stands to help cheer the Tigers on to a 43 – 6 win over the Trojans.

Tiger Band was able to perform a portion of their competition show during halftime.  Their hard work and practice was evident by their great performance .

After the game,  the excitement truly began because the students were able to attend a lock-in at the band room. Most of the kids stayed up all night playing video games, dancing, and having an overall great time! They finished the night/morning with a 5:30 am pancake breakfast.

We also want to thank all of our volunteers for serving in the canteen,  stands, and the lock-in. We couldn’t do it without you.

Band Needs for August 27th.

Good evening all! This is Susan Stevens, band booster club president. I am reaching out to you all regarding two items for this week.
1. We need canteen  workers for this Friday nights game. At a minimum we need  8 people inside the canteen to work, currently we have 3, and (2 outside). You can earn $20 off your student’s band fees, bring a friend and they can earn credit for your child as well. Remember this is the bands biggest fundraiser and where we raise the majority of our funds, but we need help to make it work.
2. We are looking for Chaperones for the lock in Friday  night after the game. You can stay 4 hours or until 6am, when every one goes home. We need at least 4 in order for this lock in to happen. We currently have 2.5 willing to stay.  The kids have been looking forward to this as a reward for their hard work.

Thank you parents for all you do!

2021 Football Season Opener at Strom Thurmond

Season Opener in the Books

  • 2021 Football Season Opener at Strom Thurmond

What a wonderful site to see fans back fully in the stands for Friday night football games. Despite a long lightening delay (and no concessions?!) Tiger Band’s spirit never waned, as they supported and cheered the football team to a convincing season-opening road win. Great job to all!
